Cup Characteristics: A cup of refreshing green tea. Subtly sweet with prominent vegetal notes.
Ingredients: Green tea (Pu-Erh style)
Description: There are several legends about the origins of Pu-erh tea. Our favorite is that of an old tea maker who lived during the Chinese Han Dynasty, about 1700 years ago. He wanted to leave something for his newly born grandson to remember him by, so he set out to create anew tea.
The grandfather plucked matcha leaves from the mountains of Southern Yunnan, fermented them, pressed them into a cake, and left them to dry. He then buried the dry cake along with its recipe. Years later, after the grandfather had died, the grandson unearthed the tea cake, broke some off, and brewed it. It was the best tea he’d ever tasted. Of course, he went on to make and sell more using his grandfather’s recipe.
Our Green Pu-erh Pie Guagnan tastes just as great, offering you a mellow sweetness, subtle earthy tones, and prominent vegetal notes.
Think about the rich history of this great tea as you enjoy a cup or three any time of the day.
