The tale of Amaretto is old and romantic, just like Italy. In 1525, a church in Saronno got an artist to give their ceiling a new look with a fresco of the Virgin Mary. The artist had to make-do with a widowed innkeeper as a substitute for his holy subject.
In appreciation of the beautifully-done painting, she offered a token of appreciation to the painter. But she was not so well off and could only prepare infused apricot pits in brandy and presented him a bottle of the brew. In a sweet tale of love and romance, the artist fell in love with both the brew and the widow, and they lived happily ever after.
Frescoes. Love affairs. Liqueurs. The Italian combo that birthed this tea. Made with all-natural flavors blended with South Africa-grown Rooibos. Watch yourself travel back in time to Venice as you fall in love with every sip. Molto bene. Enjoy.
